Tucson Police handle law enforcement but not detention. After an arrest, suspects go to the Pima County jail. The booking process takes time so new arrests may not show on the roster right away.

Inmate Services at Pima County Jail

GTL's GettingOut handles video visitation and phone services for Pima County. Set up an account at pimacountyaz.gtlvisitme.com. You must schedule visits at least one day in advance. Walk-in visits are no longer accepted.

The jail is located at 1270 W. Silverlake Road, Tucson, AZ 85713. There is also a smaller jail in Ajo at 1249 W. Ajo Well Road. Phone for Ajo is (520) 387-8511. Both facilities are run by the Pima County Sheriff.

Commissary lets inmates buy snacks, hygiene items, and writing supplies. Add money through the GTL system. Mail should be addressed to the inmate's name and booking number at the jail address.

Victim Notification

Arizona VINE alerts crime victims when an inmate's status changes. This includes release, transfer, or escape. The service is free and confidential. Register at VINELink or call 1-800-247-9763.

Arizona law gives the public access to many police records. ARS 39-121 requires agencies to open records during office hours. Contact Tucson Police for city records or Pima County Sheriff for county jail records.

Pima County jail reports cost $5.00 each with $0.25 per page over 20. Photographs are $0.25 for 4x6 or $3.00 for 8x10. Clearance letters cost $5.00. Production fees are $15 per hour after the first hour.
