Gila County does not post a jail roster online. You must call the jail to find out if someone is in custody. The county has two jail facilities. One is in Globe and the other is in Payson. This page explains how to contact both Gila County jails, check on inmates, and access visitation services.

How to Find Inmates in Gila County
To find out if someone is in jail, call one of the Gila County jail facilities. The Globe Jail is at (928) 402-8666. The Payson Jail is at (928) 468-2835. Staff will tell you if the person is in custody and give basic booking information.
The Gila County Sheriff FAQ page confirms this is how to check on inmates. The FAQ asks "How do I find out if my family member or friend is in jail?" The answer directs you to call either jail facility.

Gila County Jail Facilities
The county operates two separate jails. The Gila County Sheriff's Office runs both facilities.
Globe Jail is at 1100 South Street, P.O. Box 311, Globe, AZ 85502. Phone: (928) 402-8666. This is the main facility and county seat location. Payson Jail is at 108 West Main Street, Suite A, Payson, AZ 85541. Phone: (928) 468-2835. Payson serves the northern part of the county.
Housing inmates from other counties costs $175 for the first day and $90 each day after. Work release costs $59.50 per week. Fingerprinting costs $15 and requires exact change.
Gila County Jail Visitation
Visits at Gila County jails are video only. There are no in-person visits. The jail uses GettingOut for video visitation. You must set up an account and schedule visits online.

Gila County Inmate Accounts

GettingOut handles both video visits and money services. You set up one account for all services. Add money through their website or phone app. The system takes credit cards and debit cards. Some fees apply to deposits.
Commissary lets inmates buy snacks, hygiene items, and writing supplies. Orders run on a schedule. Deposits may take a day or two to appear in an inmate account. The jail provides basic items. Commissary is for extra purchases beyond daily needs.
Victim Notification in Gila County
Arizona VINE alerts crime victims when an inmate's custody status changes. This includes release, transfer, or escape. The service is free and confidential. Register at VINELink or call 1-800-247-9763.
You choose how to get alerts: phone, text, or email. The VINE help line is 1-866-277-7477 for questions. The system runs around the clock. You can check status without giving your name.
Gila County Public Records
Arizona law allows public access to many law enforcement records. ARS 39-121 requires agencies to open records during office hours. You can request booking information, arrest reports, and incident files from the Sheriff's Office.
Contact either the Globe or Payson office to make a request. Include the person's name and approximate date of the incident. The office may charge copy fees. Response time depends on request size. Some records are restricted, including juvenile cases and ongoing investigations.
