The MCSO Inmate Information page lets you search the Maricopa County jail roster at any time. You can search by booking number or by name and date of birth. The site is free to use. Results show the inmate's name, booking date, charges, and bond amount.
To search by name, you need the person's full name and date of birth. Enter the birth date in YYYYMMDD format. For example, January 15, 1990 would be 19900115. Click search and wait for results. The system will show all inmates that match your search in the Maricopa County jail roster. If you have a booking number, that search is faster and gives exact results.

You can also call the automated inmate hotline at (602) 876-0322. This line works around the clock every day. Use voice commands to search for an inmate by name. The system will tell you if someone is in custody and give basic booking details.
Maricopa County Jail Facilities
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office runs five jail facilities. Each serves a different purpose. All are in the Phoenix area. The Intake, Transfer, and Release facility handles all bookings. From there, inmates go to one of the other jails based on their charges and security level.
4th Avenue Jail is the main facility for male inmates. It holds maximum and medium security prisoners. The address is 201 S. 4th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85003. Phone: (602) 876-0322. This facility opened in April 2005 and has 2,064 beds. It is near downtown Phoenix and handles serious felony cases.
Towers Jail houses medium security male inmates. It has 720 beds and is at 3127 W. Gibson Lane, Phoenix, AZ 85009. Lower Buckeye Jail is the largest with 2,382 beds. It holds male inmates of various security levels. Estrella Jail is the only all-female facility in the Maricopa County jail system. It has 1,380 beds at 2939 W. Durango Street, Phoenix.

Maricopa County Jail Visitation
Visits at Maricopa County jails are by video only. There are no in-person visits. You can visit on-site at a jail kiosk or remotely from home. The jail uses ViaPath (GettingOut) for video visits. Each inmate gets one free video visit per week.
Remote visits from home cost $0.25 per minute. On-site visits at a jail kiosk cost $7.95 for 20 minutes. Remote visits run daily from 7 am to 10 pm. You must be at least 18 years old to visit. All visits except attorney visits are recorded and monitored. To schedule a visit, go to GettingOut.com and search for the inmate.

Maricopa County Inmate Accounts
You can add money to an inmate's account in Maricopa County jail. This lets them buy items from commissary and make phone calls. The jail uses TouchPay for deposits. You can deposit online, by phone, at a kiosk, or by mail.
Online deposits go through the TouchPay website. There is a service fee for each deposit. Kiosks are in jail lobbies and take cash or cards. Phone deposits work by calling TouchPay. Mail deposits must be money orders only. Do not send cash through the mail. Make the money order out to the inmate and include their booking number. Maricopa County Jail Records Requests
The jail roster shows current inmates. For records about past bookings or case details, you need to request them. MCSO handles public records requests through their Legal Liaison Section. You can submit requests by email, fax, mail, or in person.
Email your request to LLSAdmin@mcso.maricopa.gov. Fax goes to (602) 876-0056. Mail or visit in person at 550 W. Jackson St., Phoenix, AZ 85003. Phone inquiries go to (602) 876-3400. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. In-person hours end at 3 pm. MCSO charges fees per the schedule set by ARS 39-129. Fees took effect February 1, 2024.
