Phoenix Police make arrests but do not run a jail. After arrest, suspects are transported to one of the Maricopa County jail facilities for booking. The booking process can take several hours. New arrests may not appear on the jail roster immediately.

Where Phoenix Arrests Are Held

Phoenix arrests go to Maricopa County Sheriff detention facilities. There are five jails in the system. The Intake, Transfer, and Release facility handles all bookings. From there, inmates go to other jails based on their charges and security level.
